Harper’s Topiary Garden in San Diego is an example of what a homeowner can do with their front yard. In this situation, the house is situated on a hill and their front yard is on a steep incline.

The result is a reflection of the owner’s aesthetics and personality. Shapes are often whimsical and humorous. Shapes include animals like elephants, whales, rabbits, cats, dogs, frogs, and rooster. I saw several shapes of humans and forms such as a spiral. I swore I saw butts and perhaps even instances of being mooned.

Much like looking at clouds, the forms could represent several things, depending on your own interpretation. Sometimes the forms cannot be readily deciphered but on view from a different angle or distance, it can be revealed.

Adding to this garden is a Little Free Library (official address at 3539 Union Street, San Diego, CA, Charter #98316).
Should you decide to visit, please do not touch or enter the topiary garden. Also be mindful of the neighbors and on-going traffic as the street may not be busy but has plenty of drivers that pass through that location.
Harper’s Topiary Garden is a great example of what you can do with your front yard and forming shapes is way to stand out and be different.
